Everbridge Contributing Expertise & Technology to Advanced Cyber Security Center

As ACSC member, Everbridge brings end-to-end IT response automation to high-impact cybersecurity simulation exercises

(Media Advisory – June 5, 2018) Everbridge, Inc., the global leader in critical event management and incident response automation, has announced a strategic partnership with the non-profit Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) through which Everbridge will contribute both expertise and technology in support of the center’s mission to strengthen cyber defenses, develop security talent, and advocate for well-informed public policy.

As a member of the ACSC, Everbridge will be involved in the planning and execution of simulation exercises of high-impact cybersecurity incidents that the ACSC is designing. The simulation allows for collaboration that drives effective cybersecurity response practices among experts in both the private and public sectors, all of whom serve on the front lines of cybersecurity monitoring and protection. Everbridge’s unique security incident response management solution can be instrumental in automating the communications, the collaboration and the orchestration which must take place in such crisis situations, when every second counts.

Everbridge will join other planning members for the series of drills, identifying areas of concern for clients and prospects, and assisting in the execution of a comprehensive and realistic cybersecurity incident simulation.

“It’s clear the entities that pose a significant cyber threat to our national and global interests are cooperating among themselves to gain intelligence and experience,” said Michael Figueroa, President and Executive Director, Advanced Cyber Security Center. “The ACSC consortium presents the best opportunity to level the playing field for the public and private institutions that are most at risk, by providing an independent, collaborative environment in which to build the trust and awareness necessary for effective cybersecurity. We welcome Everbridge, both as a member, and as a participant on the planning committee to help improve our collective resilience to community-level attacks in New England.”

According to a recent IDG survey measuring critical IT incident response effectiveness, the time it takes to assemble and engage an IT response team takes an average of 39 minutes and can incur costs ranging from $222,000 to more than $340,000 per major incident. Particularly when responding to a cyberattack, time is of the essence to limit the contamination and contain the damage. Everbridge’s IT Alerting platform enables customers to respond to critical IT events and mitigate business impact and reputation costs through consistent, predictable, and shorter incident resolution times.

“Cybersecurity incidents are not only growing in frequency, but also in their sophistication and detrimental impact to both businesses and the public sector,” said Vick Vaishnavi, General Manager, IT Alerting Business Unit, Everbridge. “With the ever-growing global threat of cyber incidents, enterprises and public agencies alike are engaged in developing appropriate response controls to counter and mitigate risks. It’s both a privilege and a great responsibility to partner with the ACSC, an organization dedicated to developing and sharing best practices that benefit everyone involved in cyber defense. We’re looking forward to collaborating with fellow members, as well as public sector officials who are playing a vital, daily role in keeping the public safe, aware and informed of cyber incidents and the best way to respond to them.”

About the Advanced Cyber Security Center

The Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) is a non-profit and cross-sector regional collaborative that is focused on building a stronger community defense by harnessing the collective resources of its members to solve common cyber security problems. As a leading federally-registered regional Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO), the ACSC serves as a security community hub that encourages cross-sector collaboration, taps advanced technology solutions, and promotes effective practices to help organizations strengthen their own cyber defense. At the same time, the ACSC deepens the capacity of the broader cyber community by enabling organizations to collectively address common problems, reduce duplicative effort, and establish a new baseline for security across the New England regional community.
