Security, Reliability, Availability

Hardware on customer premise – typically less secure than top-tier data centers. Single point of failure that is geographically susceptible. Customer is solely responsible for onsite hardware and software for every installation.

Security may vary from installation to installation and from data center to data center. Customers assigned to a shared server in a single data center. Availability tied to a single data center as a point of failure, with failover to a backup data center to recover.

Lower risk.
Single vendor maintains highest level of security. System and processes are required to comply with industry-standard protocols and are subject to third-party audits. Customer has access to all resources across all data centers all of the time.

Lowest risk.
